How do I maximise vase life?
- Remove the leaves that would be beneath the water level of the vase. Leave the thorns on the stem.
- Cut the rose stems at an angle with a sharp knife or a pair of pruning shears.
- Don't break the stems!
- Put the roses in tap water with cut flower food, and follow the flower food instructions carefully!
- It is best to place the roses in a clean glass vase.
- When necessary freshen the water, with cut flower food and recut the stems at an angle.
- Avoid drafts and heat and keep your roses away from fruit.
- Place the roses in a cool environment, out of the sunlight and not on the draught.
- When you throw away the dead roses, don't forget to put the vase in clean water with a splash of chlorine.
Remark: The longer vase live of your roses is also determined by the route taken from us till your home. Your florist can tell you more about this.
